Know the windows

Free to cancel within 1 hour of accepting, or any time until 60 minutes before your start time (the exact minutes may be adjusted by EverTeach; the app always shows the current rule when you cancel). Outside that window it is still allowed — you can always cancel right in the app — it is just a late cancel, and you should also call EverTeach so the school knows as soon as possible.

Cancel on the assignment itself

Open the assignment in My Schedule and release it there, so the school is notified automatically. If it is a late cancel, the app will ask you to confirm and remind you to call.

A late cancel is never a fine

You will never be charged or docked pay for cancelling. A late cancel does disqualify that week's $50 completion bonus, if you were on track for one. If it happens twice within 30 days, someone from EverTeach will call you to check in — a conversation, not a penalty — because we'd rather understand what's going on than guess.

Worth knowing
  • If you are unwell the night before, say so the night before. Nobody is annoyed by early notice.
What goes wrong
  • Not showing up without telling anyone. A class goes unsupervised — this is the one thing that ends placements with a district, and it is handled separately from a cancellation.
  • Telling the teacher but not the platform. The school office and our desk both need to know.
