Set subjects and grade levels honestly

Pick every subject and grade band you are genuinely willing to cover. Too narrow and you see almost no jobs; too broad and you will end up in a room you are not comfortable in on a Monday morning.

Set your travel radius and preferred schools

Distance is one of the strongest matching signals, and an unrealistically small radius is a common reason a substitute sees an empty job board.

Add your education and certification details
Profile → Education

Degree, institution and any certification you hold. Some districts will only accept substitutes above a certain education level, so this field directly controls eligibility.

Write two or three sentences about yourself

This helps the EverTeach team place you well — especially for longer assignments. Mention grade bands you are strongest in and anything that makes you easy to place.

Worth knowing
  • Update your radius seasonally. Winter driving and September driving are different decisions.
  • If you add a new certification later, come back and add it here — it will not pick itself up from an uploaded document.
What goes wrong
  • Leaving subjects blank does not mean "all subjects" — it usually means you match fewer jobs, not more.
  • A phone number you no longer use is worse than none: urgent same-morning offers go out by text.
